The City of Raleigh has joined Wake County in issuing a “stay-at-home” proclamation to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The stay-at-home order takes effect Friday, March 27 at 5 p.m.
I know you will have many questions. The county has set up a dedicated phone line to address specific questions about the stay-at-home order: 919-856-7420.

Some commonly asked questions/concerns:
– Go to the grocery store and pharmacy;
– Get take out from a local restaurant;
– Care for a family member or pet;
– Visit a local park while practicing social distancing.
But please remember the goal of the proclamation is for Wake County residents to STAY HOME and AWAY FROM OTHERS WHO ARE NOT IMMEDIATE FAMILY OR HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS.
I know we are experiencing difficult, rapidly-changing times, but I am confident that if we follow this directive we will reduce the rate at which COVID-19 is spreading and emerge from this pandemic soon.
