ABOUT JONATHAN

PRIORITIES

Wake County is a great place to live and work- to raise a family, educate our children, and enjoy our wonderful parks and greenways. I want to continue the hard work required to keep us moving in the right direction.
— Jonathan Lambert-Melton
  • Invest in strong public schools that support teachers, students, and families. Our public schools are the foundation of opportunity in Wake County. A large county thrives when it invests in having the best schools and resources, ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed and contribute to a stronger community.

  • Fund affordable housing and advance policies to increase housing supply. Smart growth in our county means ensuring we have affordable housing and adequate housing supply.

  • Promote sustainable growth and development that protects our environment and supports improved transit options. Wake County is one of the fastest-growing areas in the country, and that growth must be planned thoughtfully. Improved transit options will reduce traffic, support environmental sustainability, and help ensure that people of all ages and abilities can move safely and affordably through our communities.

  • Strengthen public safety with mental-health resources and collaboration with first responders. Keeping our communities safe requires both smart investment and strong partnerships.

  • Champion job creation and support the businesses that drive Wake County’s economy. Innovation is a driving force behind attracting talent and businesses, ultimately fueling sustainable economic growth.

  • Expand recreational spaces, parks, and greenways for healthier communities. Investing in these spaces will boost local quality of life and make our area more resilient, attractive and sustainable for future generations.

  • Ensure county leadership reflects the people it serves. Electing Jonathan will add LGBTQ representation on the Wake County Commission. If elected, I would be proud to serve as Wake County’s only LGBTQ Commissioner and to advocate for a county where every resident feels safe, valued, and supported.
